Escaping from the Opponent's Pieces

When your object is likely to get your piece, you shold get your piece to escape from the opponent's one.

Your piece should escape in this scene!

Please take a look at Fig.1. Passive mover() has put the (gold general) at 3二(3b). This enable the opponent's (gold general) to beat 4三馬(4c-horse), and, at the same time, 4九角(4i-bishop) can do him/her to get your 3八飛(3h-rook). You can move either (horse) or (rook). Which piece should you let escape?

▲4八飛(1st-4h-rook) is the correct movement. This one movement brings three good things: your (rook) was able to escape, you can ready ▲4三同飛成(1st-3c-rook,capturing and promoting) against △4三金(2nd-4c-gold), and you can aim at 4九角(4i-bishop). In this situation, you shouldn't be gotten your (rook).
